Stephane C. Connery has been a leading art advisor and expert in Impressionist and Twentieth century art for over twenty-five years.
He joined Sotheby’s London in 1988 as a specialist in the Contemporary department, later leaving to become Director of Apollo Art Advisory Services. He moved to New York in 1997, joining Sotheby’s New York where he was soon appointed Executive Vice President, and Worldwide Head of Private sales. During this period, Stephane was instrumental in securing a significant number of important paintings offered in the prestigious Impressionist and Modern Art evening auctions, whilst remaining their leading business-getter for high-value private sales.
In 2012 Stephane left Sotheby’s to deal independently, first founding Connery Pissarro Seydoux before establishing his own firm, Connery & Associates, in 2015.
Stephane’s extensive experience in all aspects of the art market, and his fluency in French, Spanish and English, have lead to him becoming one of the most respected and influential names in his field. He has been named to Art & Auction’s Power List three times since 2009. With his dedication to impeccable client service and confidentiality, Stephane counsels many of the leading and most powerful collectors of Impressionist, Modern and Contemporary Art from around the world.
